www.sportsbetting.com IPL Auction
www.sportsbetting.com – The IPL auction is nearly upon us, with England’s Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Flintoff having confirmed to take part, they headline a total of seven England players up for grabs to the highest bidder.
In total there are 43 players from all over the world set to take part in the second IPL auction.
Pietersen has been made the hottest property with his starting price at $1.35million, Michael Clarke heads Australia’s contingent at $1million with Flintoff being the third highest valued player at $950,000.
The other five English players to be at auction will be Paul Collingwood, Owais Shah, Samit Patel, Ravi Bopara and Luke Wright. Both Matt Prior and Ian Bell withdrew from the reckoning as the final auction list was compiled. Essex all-rounder Graham Napier will participate though as he is close to gaining a contract with Mumbai Indians, as an uncapped player he does not have to enter the auction.
It comes as no surprise that veterans Dominic Cork and Darren Gough were omitted from the list despite their inclusion in the original list of England Players to be at auction.
Surpringly Nottinghamshire seamer Stuart Broad decided not to join the IPL to make sure he is in good shape for this year’s Ashes battle.
Other notable entries on the list are Australia’s Shaun Tait and Stuart Clark.
With England having a busy schedule for the summer with the World Twenty20 and the upcoming Ashes series, some may think that this is the best way for some of the players to keep focused on their cricket and get some much needed time on the field before those challenges come about.
