The Knight riders turn to be victorious once again
One of the powerful team in IPL (Indian Premier League) Cricket – the Deccan Chargers faced the ferocious Kolkatta Knight Riders in their hometown. In an electrifying atmosphere both the Teams met. The Deccan Chargers who batted first scored 110 runs in an unusual Eden garden pitch which is well known as the batsmen’s paradise. The pitch was neither friendly to Batsmen or to the Bowlers which resulted in a low total. The powerful hitters of the game Adam Gilchrist (23) and Andrew Symonds(32) entertained the crowd. The captain V.V.S. Lakshman got out for a golden duck. Murali Karthik bowled upto his caliber and restricted the batsmen to score runs. He claimed 3 wickets and Agarkar got 2 wickets.

In response to this total, The Kolkatta Knight riders started their Innings in their hometown with cheers of the crowd. The Kolkatta Knight riders had a bad opening however their batting was consolidated by the players to come. The Knight riders ensured that they are rotating the strike. The Knight riders scored single in almost every ball that they faced. The prince of Kolkatta (Saurav Ganguly) played a sensible knock. He rotated the strike, hit 1 boundary and scored 14 runs.
To add flavor to the excitement, the well equipped Eden garden’s floodlights failed to function at a very important juncture. The Knight Riders required 22 runs to win from 22 balls. If the game would have been called off at that stage the Match would have ended up in a draw. Thanks to the Ground’s staff who restored the lights which resulted in resuming the Match. The Kolkatta Knight riders slowly and steadily won the match by 5 wickets. DJ Hussey was declared the player of the Match.
BCCI and IPL spends millions of dollars in the promotion of the new format of the game. These organizations must ensure that the infrastructure and the back up are maintained well for the spontaneous continuity of the Match.
