Chasing a meager total South Africa started their Innings with a rampage. The openers gave a decent start. The responsibilities of scoring runs was taken by senior campaigners Kallis who scored 132 and the young teammate AB De Villiers scored an undefeated 217runs which projected the difference between 2 sides. The mix of experienced campaigners and his young fellow mate showed the difference between both the teams. The Indians lacked confidence and aggression in the field in all disciplines of the game. Neither the experienced campaigners made a mark as usual. Looking at the Titans fall, the youngsters were mounted with pressure and failed to make a mark.

In a green top Ahmedabad pitch Indian seamers helped the South Africans in scoring runs. None of the Indian seamers seemed to struggle the South African Batsmen. The runs were flowing at ease. Sreesanth’s efforts didn’t pay off much effect. Sreesanth took 2 wickets, R.P. Singh and Irfan Pathan ended up wicket-less in a seamer-friendly Ahmedabad pitch. The Spin twins of Indian cricket Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble came to the rescue of their Team and bowled economically. Harbhajan took 4 wickets and Anil Kumble took the wicket of M. Boucher.

South Africa declared their Innings for 494 runs for the fall of 7 wickets. In reply to this, India continued its tragical form with openers getting out cheaply. South Africa has got a lead of 418 runs.
