Kings XI Punjab with the help of Shaun Marsh’s 84 runs beat Deccan Chargers by 7 wickets in the IPL match played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium (Hyderabad).

The Kings XI Punjab won the toss and elected to field first. The Deccan Chargers started their Innings thru their openers – Adam Gilchrist and V.V.S. Laxman. Adam Gilchrist was dismissed for a meager 6 runs and Laxman scored 48 runs. Rohit Sharma played an exceptional innings and made sure their team makes a decent total. Rohit Sharma scored an unbeaten 76 runs off 42 balls (10 boundaries and 2 sixers). At the end of 20 overs, the Deccan Chargers scored a decent run of 164 runs for the fall of 8 wickets. Piyush Chawla from the opponent team was successful in grabbing 3 wickets.

Kings XI Punjab, chasing the target of 165 runs started their Innings thru their openers – Marsha and Sarwan. Sarwan was run out for 15 runs. Marsh scored an unbeaten 84 runs off 62 balls (11 boundaries and 1 sixer). Jayawardane scored a decent 45 runs. The Kings XI Punjab met their target in 18.5 overs for the fall of 3 wickets and won the match by 7 wickets. Shaun Marsh was declared the Man of the Match.
