Ladebroke Cricket Bet – Ashes
Ladbroke cricket bet – After their first series defeat since 2005 Australia’s odds to retain the Ashes in England next summer have been pushed out pretty much universally by the bookmakers.
Ricky Pointing’s sides were reduced to a two-nil series defeat by India after the tourists fell to a massive 172 run defeat in the last test. As a result England are now around just 6/4 to regain the urn with the Aussies out to nearly even money.
The cut in England’s price comes despite their five-nil reverse last time the sides met but under new skipper Kevin Peterson the Pommes have found a new lease of life. That said they face the victorious Indians next and a whitewash in the subcontinent will see those odds for an English success against the old enemy lengthen once again.
Already the build up seems to have begun to the next Ashes series with much speculation that Shane Warne could come out of retirement for the tour. However the silver lining from their Indian disaster for the Australians is the discovery of new spin bowler Jason Krejza, who took eight wickets in the first innings of the latest test to take the man-of-the-match prize. As a result the return of ‘the wizard’ Warne is now a 7/2 chance.
Meanwhile KP and co have been warming up for the tour of India in a match against the Mumbai Cricket Association. Andrew Flintoff hit an unbeaten century in the game, his first since 2005 and can now be backed at 9/2 to repeat the feat in the forthcoming one-day international series.
