The Kings XI Punjab defeated the Deccan Chargers by 6 wickets in the IPL match held at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali – Chandigarh.

The Kings XI Punjab headed by Yuvraj Singh won the toss and chose to bowl first. The Deccan Chargers started their Innings with an excellent opening. Gilchrist scored 50 runs off 42 balls (6 boundaries and 1 sixer). Gibbs scored 44 runs off 34 balls (3 boundaries and 3 sixers). Rohit Sharma also scored his half-century off 27 balls (3 boundaries and 4 sixers) which resulted in achieving a challenging score for his team. At the end of 20 overs, the Deccan Chargers scored 175 runs for the fall of 4 wickets.

Chasing the challenging score of 176 runs, the Kings XI Punjab started their Innings thru their openers – Shaun Marsh and Sangakkara. The openers really played well to achieve the target. Shaun Marsh scored 60 runs off 46 balls (3 boundaries and 3 sixers). Sangakkara played a quick knock of 50 runs off just 25 balls (7 boundaries and 2 sixers). The team’s skipper Yuvraj Singh was dismissed for 17 runs. The Kings XI Punjab met their target in 19.3 overs for the loss of 4 wickets and won the match by 6 wickets. Shaun Marsh was declared the Man of the Match.
