IPL (Indian Premier League) Cricket is a Twenty 20 form of Cricket to be played between 8 Indian city based franchises (includes non-Indian players also). It is created by BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) and approved by ICC (International Cricket Council).

IPL matches are scheduled to start from April 2008 which involves a total of 59 matches. The competition prize is estimated to be around US$ 3,000,000.

Telecasting rights have been given to Sony TV and World Sports Group.  Ten Sports bought the rights to telecast in Australia and Setanta Sports for UK rights.
