Australian Tour would have been called off courtesy to controversy surrounding in the 2nd test match in Sydney.

Indian Players in an unprecedented move under leadership of Bombay Bomber “Sachin Tendulkar” and Anil Kumble (captain of the Indian Test Team) decided not to play in the
Test series till the Controversy is sorted and justice reinstated towards their Team mate.

BCCI strongly backed its team and took issue to the ICC with series of demand.

  1. Steve Bucknor must not stand as an Umpire for the rest of the series.
  2. Ban against Harbhajan Singh must be revoked.

A very cautious ICC was reluctant in complying towards the demand of BCCI. But the entire Indian Team stood tall before both the Cricketing Origination BCCI and ICC, and said we won’t go ahead with series unless or other justice is met to the Team.

BCCI thankfully rallied on behalf of the Indian Team, stressed the importance of these demands.

After analyzing the scenario the ICC took its stand and removed the controversial Umpire Steve Bucknor out of the series.

ICC has ordered a re-trial in Harbhajan Singh’s issue and match ban against him, is on hold.

Based on the ICC’s decision Team India decided to play in the rest of the series and left to play the Third test match.

ICC must be more pro-active while handling controversy such as this. It must act without demand of any Team if there is any controversy in the Game.
