English Club Cricket Latest News
With not long to go until the end of the current English Cricket season things could not be any tighter in the County Championship table (the 4 day version of the game) with league leaders Nottinghamshire just one point ahead of Durham who have a game in hand and Somerset back in third also with a game in hand over Notts. At the bottom of the table meanwhile Surrey look doomed to relegation after no wins in 11 games and are the only team still not to get to 100 points.

Players that have been performing this year include old England International Mark Ramprakash who despite his team Surrey having a horrible year in terms of winning no games he has somehow managed to score very consistently with an average of 62 runs including a marvellous knock of 200 not out in the process.
Another batsmen in form and is being looked at by the English selectors (again) for their upcoming tour to India is Nottinghamshire Wicket keeper and captain Chris Read who once again has batted very well this season with an average of over 41 and has also taken quite a few unbelievable catches in helping Nottinghamshire to the top of the table in both the 4 day and one day versions of the game.
Stave Harmison is the English bowler who has caught the eye all season and has deservedly regained his place in the Test side and with some very testing test series to come against the top sides in the world he will need to stay on top of his game because he is England’s premier bowler when on form.
