Chennai Super Kings won by 3 runs
Chennai Super Kings win the IPL match against Kolkatta Knight Riders by 3 runs as per the Duckworth-Lewis method as the match was interrupted by partial power failure and storm. Chennai Super Kings are now a step closer to enter the semi-finals. Kolkatta Knight Riders’ hope to enter semi-finals is washed away as they have only 10 points in the 11 matches played so far.

Kolkatta Knight Riders won the toss and elected to bat first. The opener Salman Butt played a brilliant Innings by scoring 73 runs off 54 balls (10 boundaries and 1 sixer). The team’s skipper Saurav Ganguly was dismissed for a meager 2 runs. At the end of 20 overs, the Kolkatta Knight Riders scored 149 runs for the fall of 5 wickets. Ntini grabbed hat-trick in this match which is the 3rd hat-trick in the IPL tournament. The bowlers to grab hat trick earlier were Lakshmipthi Balaji and Amit Mishra.
Chasing the target score of 150 runs, the Chennai Super Kings started their Innings. Parthiv Patel scored 19 runs and Fleming scored 32 runs. After the 8th over, the Match was interrupted due to storm and power failure. Chennai Super Kings were announced as the winner as per the D/L method. Ntini was declared the Man of the Match.
