Chennai Super Kings win by 9 wickets
Chennai Super Kings marked their third victory in the IPL cricket by defeating Kolkatta Knight Riders today by 9 wickets. The Chennai Super Kings headed by M.S. Dhoni played exceptionally well in bowling as well as batting.

Kolkatta Knight Riders won the toss and elected to bat first. The team’s skipper Saurav Ganguly failed to score upto his mark (12 runs). Jacob Oram took 2 crucial wickets – McCullum and Ponting and at the later stage of the match he also picked the wicket of Murali Karthik. McCullum scored 24 runs off 12 balls (2 boundaries and 2 sixers). Ponting was dismissed in the very first ball itself. LR Shukla made a decent standing by scoring 42 runs off 33 balls (4 boundaries and 1 sixer). At the end of 20 overs Kolkatta Knight Riders scored 147 runs for the fall of 9 wickets.
Chasing the target of 148 runs, Chennai Super Kings started their Innings and made a strong foundation thru their openers – Parthiv Patel and Hayden. Parthiv Patel was out for 21 runs. Later Dhoni joined Hayden and both the batsmen drived their team to the victorious path. Hayden scored 70 runs off 49 balls (6 boundaries and 3 sixers) and Dhoni scored 43 runs off 27 balls (3 boundaries and 2 sixers). At the end of 17th over Dhoni thrashed a winning sixer and Chennai Super Kings won the match with still 9 wickets in hand. Jacob Oram was declared the “Man of the Match”.
