Chennai Super Kings outsmart Kings XI Punjab

One of the powerful Teams in IPL (Indian Premier League) Cricket is the Chennai Super Kings. The Super Kings scored the highest total in IPL Twenty 20 format. They piled up whopping 240 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Parthiv Patel and Michael Hayden provided a decent start for Team Chennai which was taken over by Michael Hussey. Michael Hussey knocked off a brilliant and unbeaten 116 runs out of just 54 balls which consists of 8 boundaries and 9 sixers. Hussey’s contribution boosted the run flow of Chennai Super Kings. Suresh Raina described as “the replacement for Sachin” by Gregg Chappell (former Indian coach) played a resourceful knock by supporting Hussey. Raina scored 32 runs off 13 balls (2 boundaries and 3 sixers). The local boy Badrinath stood tall and scored 31 runs off 14 balls (4 boundaries and 2 sixers).

Chasing a massive target of 241 runs got heavy for the Kings XI Punjab headed by Yuvraj Singh. The Yuvi’s boy had a nightmare after looking at the run rate. The openers Goel & Hopes gave a consolidated start for the Kings XI Punjab. Goel’s knock of 24 runs off 19 balls (2 boundaries and a six) and Hope’s stand of 71 runs off 33 balls (10 boundaries and 3 sixers) brought some hope to the Yuvi’s boys. After the loss of Goel, Sangakkara piled a quick 54 runs and keeping the battle live. The king of sixers Yuvraj Singh managed to hit 2 sixers and 1 boundary which resulted in vain. The Punjab Team scored 207 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs and was defeated by 33 runs. M. Hussey was declared the Man of the Match.
