Bet on Cricket
Cricket is what I like to call the Marmite of sport, you either love it or hate it. It isn’t the biggest sport around the world, not by any means but it does have a huge following in certain countries, England, Australia and the West Indies or the Windies to name but a few. A match is played on a cricket pitch and the size of the pitch can vary, both teams are made up of eleven players although at any one time, one team will have 11 players on the pitch and the opposing team will only have 2.
This is because the 2 players are batting and the 11 are fielding, then they switch when either, all overs have been bowled, all batsmen have been bowled out, or the batting declare on a score they are happy with. The fielding team are all set in position and one players will bowl the ball and aim for the stumps behind the batsman, the batsman aim is to hit the ball as far away as possible to allow him and his batting partner to get more ‘runs’. A run is when you and your partner run to each others end of the wicket without the ball returning and hitting your stumps before you arrive. If the batsman hits the ball past the boundary then it is an automatic 4 runs, if the batsman hits it out of the boundary without the ball bouncing then he gets 6 runs for the team, obviously the more runs you get the better!
