Ahmedabad Test Match turned to be a Nightmare for India
The Second Test Match between India and South Africa which is being played at Ahmedabad turned out to be a nightmare for the Indian Cricket Fans. The host – Indian Team were bowled out for a meager 76 runs. The second lowest total by the Indian Team, in India. The Indian Team won the toss and elected to bat first which came as a surprise to Cricket Enthusiasts as the Ahmedabad pitch is generally known as a Seamer-Friendly pitch. Anil Kumble, the captain of Indian Test Team banked on his batting order but the Indian Batting order destroyed their Captain’s hope.
Experienced Campaigners like Dravid, V.V.S. Laxman, Ganguly and Sehwag failed miserably which resulted in a major downfall of the batting order. The new comers in the Team failed to capitalize on a given opportunity. Dhoni continued his losing stroke by getting out for cheap figures. Wassim Jaffer, the opening batsman for Indian Test Team didn’t give a solid start that India deserved. The Indian batting order was clueless because of the pace attack of the South Africans.
Sachin Tendulkar’s absence was felt big time as the Bombay bomber suffered a groin injury which restrained him from playing this Match. The Indian Team was bundled out within 20 overs and the entire India Team spent 109 minutes batting and scored 76 runs losing all the 10 wickets.
Probably the World Champions in Twenty-20 Cricket assumed this was a Twenty-20 Match. Well guys, Wake up – This ain’t a Twenty-20 Cricket, we are playing a TEST CRICKET!
