A consoling victory for Bangalore Royal Challengers
Bangalore Royal Challengers defeated the Chennai Super Kings by 14 runs in the IPL match held at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium – Chepauk, Chennai. Chennai Super Kings are still in the third place followed by Mumbai Indians in the IPL table and have chance of entering the semi-finals.

Bangalore Royal Challengers won the toss and elected to bat first. The openers Kallis and Goswami were dismissed for 5 and 10 respectively. The team’s skipper Rahul Dravid scored an excellent 47 runs off 39 balls (5 boundaries). At the end of 20 overs, the Bangalore Royal Challengers scored 126 runs for the fall of 8 wickets.
Chasing the low target of 127 runs, the Chennai Super Kings started with a good opening. The openers Parthiv Patel’s 24 runs and Fleming’s 45 runs made a strong foundation and everything was favorable for the Chennai Super Kings. But the batsmen following them including the team’s skipper Dhoni were dismissed for single digit figures. Suresh Raina was the only man who stood unbeaten for 21 runs. But his efforts ended up in vain as his team lost the match by 14 runs. Anil Kumble was declared the Man of the Match.
